About Desirée
Dr. Desirée is a warm, attentive, and empathic sex and couples therapist. She is highly skilled with significant advanced training, and has nearly a decade of clinical experience.
She specializes in helping clients with intimacy challenges, trauma, and issues related to neurodivergence, providing an affirming space for highly sensitive persons (HSP), empaths, and folks who identify as LGBTQ+. She also has expertise in helping clients deconstruct and understand the impact of religious beliefs on their sexuality, guiding them toward a more authentic relationship with themselves and others.
Dr. Desirée combines evidenced based frameworks with somatic practices to help you learn skills to deepen emotional bonds, improve communication, and strengthen conflict resolution skills. She will also go beyond skills and help you dive deeper, to increase insight and self-compassion for lasting change.
Dr. Desirée offers a safe and supportive space for individuals and couples to explore concerns such as desire discrepancy, experiencing changes in libido, out of control sexual behavior, erectile dysfunction, or facing challenges around intimacy after medical events such as bariatric surgery.
If you are unpacking past beliefs or experiences, Dr. Desirée will help you navigate body image concerns, particularly if you've had a history within Purity Culture or feel conflicted about sexuality and spirituality. She can guide you through exploring your sexual values and skills, finding ways to articulate your needs and desires, and discovering opportunities for pleasure that feel right for you. This approach can be especially helpful for individuals interested in integrating spirituality with their sexuality or those who feel hesitation about exploring identities such as kink, Dominant/submissive (D/s) relationships, and other relationship structures.
Her book, "My Body Is a Singing Bowl: Compassionate Meditations for Body Image and Intimacy," will be released in 2025.
Dr. Desirée is a second generation immigrant, and part of the LGBTQ+ and fat acceptance communities. Her holistic, client-centered, and compassionate approach will empower you to make choices that enhance your relationships and well-being.
