About sade:
sade's approach to therapy is collaborative and firmly rooted in the beliefs that each person has the potential for growth and that two things can be true at the same time: We are all the experts of our lived experiences and sometimes we need loving guidance to create the relationships and lives we desire.
Using warmth, empathy, and straightforward feedback, sade is skilled at building a safe container for you to explore with compassionate curiosity the truth of your life and your experiences. Whether you are seeking individual or couples therapy, sade will help you see your strengths, support you to give voice to your needs, and help you identify and change patterns that are not working for you. For clients that have a history of trauma, sade uses her expertise and experience as a trauma therapist to create a safe space for you to improve your self-worth, feel and transform difficult feelings, and help you change negative patterns in your life and your relationships. You can also expect sessions to include a touch of humor and fun.
Prior to becoming a sex therapist, sade’s work was focused on policy and research that promoted and normalized sex education. Now, as a sex therapist, sade enjoys integrating her in-depth knowledge of sex education and experience as an advocate to help trauma survivors find pleasure and explore the nuances of consent in their relationships. She has expertise in working with folks who are LGBTQAI+, supporting survivors of complex trauma and sexual violence to thrive, and helping folks with religious trauma unburden from shame and negative messaging about sex and pleasure. sade also enjoys helping clients step out of the box of societal expectations and explore practices like ethical non monogamy (ENM) and kink.
In her work with couples, sade uses Imago therapy to help draw connections between early life experiences and current relationship struggles to stop the cycle of repeated arguments, and learn to trust each other again. You will learn how you and your partner can uncover wounds from childhood, better understand each others triggers, and help each other heal.
As a queer Black woman who is the daughter of an immigrant father and Black American mother, sade understands the impact of intersecting identities on lived experience. She offers a philosophy on healing and growth that values unique perspectives and expanding possibilities.
